From Rio de Janeiro to the World: Buenos Aires Tango Show Brings the Passion of Argentina to the Stage
Experience the elegance, intensity and timeless magic of Argentine tango in a spectacular live performance celebrating the rich cultural connections between Brazil and Argentina.
Straight from Buenos Aires, the Buenos Aires Tango Show arrives in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at 7 pm, at Teatro Clara Nunes, in Shopping da Gávea. Featuring more than 20 dancers, including celebrated tango performers and world champions, the production recreates the elegance, intensity and tradition of the great tango shows of Argentina’s capital.
Conceived by dancer and cultural producer Fernando DeCampos, the show brings together more than two decades of experience in performance, artistic production and the promotion of tango in Brazil. A former member of Cia. Tango Lovers, with tours across Europe, and Ballet Mora Godoy in Buenos Aires, Fernando has also performed as a dancer in several TV Globo productions, including O Clone, América, Caminho das Índias, Salve Jorge and A Força do Querer. He also made a special appearance in Travessia, performing a tango sequence with Lucy Alves and Rômulo Estrela.
For the past 14 years, Fernando has directed the Brazilian Tango Congress, an initiative dedicated to promoting and developing the art form throughout Brazil.
“Tango is an artistic expression that carries the history, identity and emotion of Buenos Aires. The idea behind the Buenos Aires Tango Show is to bring that atmosphere to audiences in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together outstanding dancers, live music and different generations of tango in a production that honours its roots while revealing its strength and contemporary spirit.”
— Fernando DeCampos, creator of the Buenos Aires Tango Show
Joining Fernando on stage is Débora Ambrosano, his long-standing partner in both life and art. With 20 years of experience as a dancer, a scientific background and specialist training in movement, Débora combines technical precision with artistic sensitivity.
Together, Fernando and Débora won the Tango Pista category at Preliminar Tango Brasil 2025 and were crowned European Tango Escenario champions in Portugal in 2025. Their careers have also taken them to international festivals, overseas tours and the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires.
On stage, Fernando and Débora perform alongside an ensemble that combines dance, live music, striking choreography and elegant costumes. The production is designed to transport audiences into the heart of Buenos Aires culture, revealing the many facets of Argentine tango.
The live performance features the Orquestra Tango Revirado, with Argentine singer Gerardo Felipe. The musical programme journeys from the timeless classics of Carlos Gardel to the modern innovations of Astor Piazzolla.
The result is an immersive cultural experience that brings audiences closer to the spirit of Buenos Aires, uniting Brazilian and Argentine artists in a celebration of tango’s power, elegance and enduring tradition.
With its exceptional cast, live orchestra and international artistic heritage, the Buenos Aires Tango Show invites audiences to discover—or rediscover—the passion of one of Argentina’s most treasured cultural expressions.
The Buenos Aires Tango Show will give one exclusive performance in Rio de Janeiro.
